PM Modi in Varanasi Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Rs 20,000 crore under the PM-KISAN scheme in his first visit to Varanasi, after assuming office for the third consecutive term.During his visit, the prime minister will participate in the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan and release Rs 20,000 crore as part of the income support scheme for over 9.26 crore farmers.At around 7 PM, Modi will witness Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat. He will also perform 'pooja' and 'darshan' at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple at around 8 PM, an official statement said.In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi won from his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi for the third consecutive time.

PM Kisan scheme has become world's largest direct benefit transfer scheme, says PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Varanasi that PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has become the largest Direct Benefit Transfer scheme in the world.
"PM Kisan Samman Nidhi has become the world's largest Direct Benefit Transfer scheme. So far, Rs 3.25 lakh crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of crores of farmer families of the country," he said.
"I am happy that technology has been used better to deliver benefits to the right beneficiaries in PM Kisan Samman Nidhi," he added.

Over Rs 3 lakh crore already transferred to farmers under PM-Kisan scheme: Shivraj Chouhan
Union Agriculture Minister and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that over Rs 3 lakh crore has already been transferred to the bank accounts of farmers under the PM-Kisan Scheme.
"Today, PM Modi will transfer Rs 20,000 crore to the bank accounts of about 9.25 crore farmers with a single click. So far, about Rs 3.24 lakh crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of farmers," he said.
