As y'all know, the football transfer portal opens next Monday. I'm really hoping kjmc15 comes back because his recruiting and transfer portal updates were invaluable. In his absence, I thought I'd start a thread to post some stuff on the eve of what could be a busy portal season for the Yellow Jackets.

Here's On3.com's ranking of football players in the portal. Since the portal hasn't officially opened, I'm assuming they're basing this on announcements various football players have publicly said.

No Yellow Jackets in the pre-portal at this time, but given that the transfer portal comes for all, I'd expect we'll see some announcements in the coming days.

Vanderbilt moved quick in the portal, picking up a commitment from Middle Tennessee DL transfer Zaylin Wood on Tuesday(from the VandySports.com site). GT offered him this past weekend.

Riley from Duke just entered the portal and the speculation is he will follow Elko to A&M.

Honestly, I'm not sure Riley it that good. He was a good runner but from what I saw was good "for Duke" but not sure he is top 10 team good. Guess we might find out.

I felt like he had that “it” factor, but good point, it was Duke. I liked the way he played. Of course Hartman was all everything at Wake without winning a bunch of important things and then really didn’t shine at ND over the course of a whole season.

He was better at Wake.
I sort of think the ND coach might be sub-par but not sure. I don't think Riley is as good as Hartman.

How long before they turn this into entertainment on ESPN similar to the NFL draft show? The NCAA "commissioner" can shake hands with the players as they are accepted by their new team and puts on a hat with their logo. There will be hugs, laughter, and tears from the family members as the "student" transfer is made official.

Wouldn't the first thing be live announcements on ESPN+, maybe with a hat ceremony.
Although for the portal, picking a door with you new team's logo might be more appropriate.
