The college basketball transfer portal window is closed, which means no more players can enter — unless paperwork was submitted before the 11:59 p.m. ET deadline Wednesday. More than 1,900 players entered the transfer portal during the 2024 cycle,which is a record that may never be surpassed with the final round of super seniors factoring into the equation. While most of the teams inside the top 20 are undergoing a rebuild, some are strengthening the roster for a run at a national championship in 2025.

Morethan a quarter of theupdated top-100 transfer portal players from this 2024 cycle remain uncommitted, which means there could still be plenty of movement in the team rankingsbefore the dust completely settles on the college basketball transfer cycle.

The Wolfpack certainly got the attention of several top transfers this spring including a former Louisvilleduo of Mike James and Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, who will remain in the ACC next season. The pair combined to score 25.5 points with 13.4 rebounds per game during the 2023-24 campaign. All four of the incoming transfers for NC State and head coach Kevin Keatts rate as four-star prospects.

Alabama hit big in the transfer portal to help its efforts in reaching the Final Four for the first time in program history this past season. The Crimson Tide look to repeat that formula of success heading into the 2024-25 campaign with three incoming transfers up to this point. Rival lines are no match for the transfer portal era with former Auburn point guard Aden Holloway making a move to Alabama after just one season with the Tigers. Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats has a solid trio of transfers this spring.

The Longhorns grabbed former Arkansas shooting guard Tramon Mark as one of the best available scoring threats in the portal and the headliner of the haul up to this point. Former Oregon State point guard Jordan Pope provides another talented scoring option as well for Texas after averaging a team-high 17.6 points and 3.4 assists this past season. Head coach Rodney Terry has pieces to surround incoming five-star freshman Tre Johnson for the 2024-25 season.

So, replenishing the roster with transfers is a must for head coach Brad Underwood. The process seems to be a success up to this point with the spring window now closed and the Fighting Illini securing five newcomers.Former Arizona point guard and top-40 overall transfer Kylan Boswellheadlines the group that also includes former Notre Dame power forward Carey Booth as another top-100 transfer player in this cycle.

Former Virginia Tech point guard Sean Pedulla will spend his final year of eligibility in Oxford coming off a career-best season in which he averaged 16.4 points per game.Four of the five incoming transfers for head coach Chris Beard and the Rebels rank among the top-150 in the latest update. Former Seton Hall small forward Dre Davis provides another veteran presence for Ole Miss with more than 1,100 career points while shooting 47% from the field.

After matching its lowest single-season win total (8) in almost 60 years and going winless against SEC opponents, Missouri is in desperate need of upgrades to its roster ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. The Tigers already have aquartetof four-star transfers committed, including former Duke power forward Mark Mitchelland Iowa veteran point guard Tony Perkins. Third-year head coach Dennis Gates also secured a top-15 high school recruiting class that could help Missouri get things turned around after a dismal season.

The Tigers reached at least 20 wins in each of his six seasons as head coach at his alma mater, but have yet to advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. An influx of talent from the transfer portal could help Memphis hit another gear with former Texas point guard Tyrese Hunter and former Tulsa shooting guard PJ Haggerty molding a strong pairing in the backcourt. Haggerty finished as the second-leading scorer in the American Athletic Conference this past season with 21.2 points per game.

A new point guard is also en route to UCLA with former Louisville standout Skyy Clark being the first of six transfer additions since the start of the cycle. Michigan also landed a trio of transfers with high-major experience including former Ohio State shooting guard Roddy Gayle Jr. and Auburn point guard Tre Donaldson. Former McDonald's All-American Brandon Garrison headlines the haulfor Kentucky. The 6-foot-11, 245-pound big man flashed as a true freshman at Oklahoma State last season. Former San Diego State point guard Lamont Butler Jr. and former Oklahoma wing Otega Oweh also rankas top-50 transferadditions for Kentucky following the recent update. The start of the new era in Lexington is promising and there could be another piece on the way still.

Former Oklahoma State and East Carolina standout Javon Small will remain in the Big 12 for the 2024-25 season.The Mountaineers immediately landed one of the top early transfers in Tucker DeVries,the son of the new head man in Morgantown and Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. West Virginia could be setting itself up to see immediate success in a new era with a strong incoming transfer class.

That process and plan is starting to take shape with two high-profile commitments this week. Former Florida Atlantic guard Johnell Davis, the No. 3 overall transfer prospect in the cycle, joins former Tennessee big man Jonas Aidooas the early additions for the Razorbacks. Calipari also landed a familiar face in former Kentucky center Zvonimir Ivisic. It is a start, but there is still a lot of groundwork to cover before tipoff of the 2024-25 season in November.

A two-time transfer, Storr led the Badgers with 16.8 points per game this past season. Former Alabama sophom*ore Rylan Griffen played a key role in the run to the Final Four with 11.2 points per game while shooting 45.4% from the field and 39.2% from 3-point range. Kansas may have lost the top ranking in the transfer portal race, but the Jayhawks are the way-too-early favorite for the 2024-25 season.

Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and former Washington State combo guard Myles Rice joins fellow standout freshman and Stanford transfer Kanaan Carlyle en route to Indiana for the 2024-25 campaign.
